Training on Bimodapp and Gestemapps

Study and investigation are an integral part of our identity. The school of Celia and Pepe is collaborating with the Francisco de Vitoria University in Madrid on an essential research project examining the impact of augmentative communication systems on families.

On March 15, we conducted a training for the school’s families on the use and capabilities of BIMODAPP and GESTEMAPPS. In this session, school therapeutic coordinator Elisa Peinado presented the applications and taught families how to maximize the applications and implement them at home to improve their children’s communication. Esther and Paloma, a Francisco de Vitoria University teacher and student, also helped us by surveying families on applications and their potential.

We discovered that Bimodapp enhances speech, improves communicative intention, and structures language. Gestemapps assists children who are just starting out and who are developing the prerequisites for reading and writing. Our reading and writing textbooks include these hand movements as an integral element of the learning process.
